I once heard the phrase, "I want your moments, not your poses" and believe that speaks perfectly to the work I am passionate about. As your photographer, I strive to capture the essence of love, light and connection. Intrinsically, I am a storyteller and there is no better way to tell a story than through a carefully curated collection of moments.
I describe my sessions as lifestyle because they are meant to reflect the essence of your life –as you are today, naturally. Each family has its own unique family culture and identity – their own secret handshake. Each family’s ways of connecting are unique and that subtle (or not so subtle!) expression of who your family is, is what I aim to capture.
We will pick a location together that fits the story you’d like to tell, whether it’s your home or a park or an urban setting and we’ll go have some fun! There will be silliness, laughter, tender moments and some sort of adventure –oh, and kissing, did I mention kissing? Affection is like a window to the soul and I LOVE windows.
Windows are light and light is the main ingredient in my photography. I use natural light because it tells the other half of the story. I prefer to do my sessions outdoors in the early morning or late evening when the light is soft and warm. However, living in Minnesota can sometimes hinder the desire to be outdoors in the winter, so finding a location with bright indoor window light is key. BUT – I love to be outside and am not scared of the cold, so if your story is best told outdoors – let’s go!
After our session, I will thoughtfully select a series of some of the best moments from our shoot and share them with you in an online gallery for you to chose your favorites. I love the word gallery because your images are art! Seeing your family’s connection through my lens will give you the opportunity to step back and see what makes your family unique and beautiful in a whole new way.
I would love to connect and help you bring your story to life, capturing moments that will be with you to enjoy for years to come.
